idea: creatively creating chalkboards

it seems like everywhere i look,  there are chalkboards in the most unusual & creative places.  here are a few examples:

on a salvaved mirror,

centsational girl

a discarded door,

design sponge

an old bed end, 

via a beach cottage

in an embroidery hoop [buy from bliss in a teacup],

and on the back of doors...

~now i personally am not the biggest chalkboard fan [love the idea, hate the sound of nails, or really anything, scratching it], but these designs just be too amazing not to try.
