i want: light blue dress

sweet, romantic, ethereal
i just think that this is the sweetest dress & that it would look really flattering on.  the only thing i would potentially change is the black belt -- i think i would like it more as white.  i don't usually like when fabric is shaped in an accordion-like style but something about the shape of this dress makes it soft and romantic.  i would love to wear this on a nice date :)

from the super cute online store mod cloth [but unfortunately it's sold out!]

pretty picture: moss graffiti

by artist anna garforth

i love this.  end of story.

My work needs to make an immediate impact given its ephemeral nature. There is a lot of wild in the city. My eye has become attuned to the plant life that pushes and grows its way through all the cracks in the concrete. Once you have noticed it, it's everywhere....
~Anna Garforth

i've been thinking about what i would want on my wall, and although i'm still entirely unsure, the best i can think of right now is:
love all,
              trust few.
                                            do wrong to none.

celeb style: emma watson takes it off

. . . her hair that is!
i cannot get over how absolutely stunning she looks.  even more so, i am proud of her for taking such a beauty risk -- women are often defined by long, luxurious hair; chopping it off takes incredible courage & confidence.  in her own words, the hair cut was "liberating."  i truly believe that there is nothing sexier in women [or men for that matter] than the confidence to liberate oneself from any and all sorts of oppression or expectations.  prop to you, emma!

pretty picture: beauty on a balcony

as seen in Vogue Australia Sept. 2010:
something about this photograph, by the talented Nicole Bentley [featuring the stunning fashion model Catherine McNeil] just enchants me.  the soft, feminine glamour, the way she is framed by the balcony doors, her pensive look with her eyes beautifully highlighted... i just love it.

pretty picture: ballerina bride

in a stephanie james bridal dress:
what a lovely dress & FUN! idea for a bridal fashion photoshoot!

design: orange & trees wallpaper

orange + white trees =
burnt orange was a favorite color growing up in my parents' house - more in clothing than interior design, but seeing this deep orange wallpaper makes me feel right at home.  I'm unsure how I feel about the rest of the decor in this particular bedroom but I absolutely adore the wallpaper and would love to play around with it in my own house [maybe in a den?]

pin up pretties: on the beach

i love the sweet sexiness of 1940's/1950's pin up girls, so i can't get enough of this beachfront photoshoot highlighting the more relaxed side of the pin up style.  here are just a few samples:

ohh now i want a photoshoot on the beach!!

celeb style: valentino lace dress

valentino fall couture 2010:

on the runway:

olivia palermo:

zoe saldana:

I am in love with the fun and feminine ruffles.  also great is the high neckline to accomodate such a short hemline, I think if it were lower, the outfit would become more trashy and less young-ladylike.
[and it's Valentino... go figure!]

idea: hanging pictures with ribbon & bow

I think this is a totally adorable and simple way to hang framed pictures/art -- I think I'll have to try it out myself!
